Rocky Horror for foundation of Friends.

We are performing 2 Rocky Horror shows in aid of the childrens charity; Foundation of Friends. Proceeds form the entry fees will go to this loacal chirty, which assists deprived/underprileged childern in the Malaga region.
Entry fee to each show will be €10 per preson, the shows are on Wed 14 & Thurs 15 April resectfully. The cast lead and directed by Londons West End star Christopher Howard, have kindly offerd there time for free to this worthwhile course.
Booking is essential for both shows, which will start at 9 pm.

Addlin December 2009

Once again, we scoured the length and breadth of Spain and the UK to produce our finest cast yet!

Specially flown in from the UK were Andy and Sue with other cast members being made up from Calahonda and Riviera.

The players this year were: Chris Howard - Director, Choreographer and star; Co-stars were Anita, Karen, Matt, Andy, Sue, Steve and Steve, Alison, with special appearances from Sam and James.



This year's panto was the story of Aladdin, a pauper boy who seeks wealth. In his quest, he comes across a wicked wizard who persuades lies and betrays him.

In true panto style, he meets the girl of his dreams in the princess and together they overcome the evil wizard and Aladdin succeeds in his quest for wealth, and find true love in the process.

Bookings for this years performance were quickly snapped up. Even before the press release was issued, the first night was a sell-out, which lead to an equally successful second night.

The panto was accompanied by a fantastic three course meal, once again proving extremely popular with our guests.

Feedback from the audience on the night was extremely positive, including such comments as...

'It was like watching a professional performance!'
'The Genie and the Slave (our two younger cast members) were outstanding performances.'
'We enjoyed it so much, we are definitely coming again.'
'The food was excellent and great value for money.'

'The Les' Plays the Dos Leones Society

'The Les' and two collegues joined Dos Leones for the day at the Calanova a few days ago.

This is a precursor for the Bunkers Challenge which will take place on the 14th of October.

'The Les', who is a regular member of the Dos Leones Society, will be taking advantage of the situation to play Calanova prior to the Bunker Challenge Trophy on the 14th of October.

'The Les' is hoping that this visit will enhance his game dramatically, giving the advantage to Bar La Orquidea in at least one of the four balls, as we all know, course knowledge is king!

Anyone wishing to play in the La Orquidea of Dos Leones Societies are, it goes without saying, welcome at all times.

So come on you future golfers, men, women and children alike. Come and enjoy this social game with two of the best societies on the Costa.

Christopher Howard Birthday Bash

A slightly rainy Andalusian Saturday night was brought to life by the celebration of our very own Mr Christopher Howard's [deleted by request] birthday.

The bar was full to capacity with Calahonda's most glamorous elite. Notable guests included long-time La Orquidea regulars Rick and Becky, Steve and Nat, Pat and Tom, Terry and Karen, Sam from over the road and our friends from Dos Leones, Timo, Kath and Terry.

It was, without doubt, a fantastic night.

The October Golf Society is On!

The date is set for the clash of the two heavyweights of Calahonda and Riviera. La Orquidea are taking on Bunkers Bar at the fantastic Calanova Course.



Put it in your diaries - Wednesday the 14th of October, 2009.



The game is open to all, and frankly, a bargain at just €60.00 for the game and a meal back at the bar afterwards.

Flamenco, Paella and the Golf Society

This summer has had fabulous reviews from all out guests, who particularly enjoyed the Golf Society day.

Our regular act, West End lead role, Mr. Christopher Howard (Thursday nights, booking advised) continues to bring in large audiences backed up by Mr Danny Sax and Jitterbug.

Our guest acts included the Roamin' Gnomes (an Irish folk music act) and a particular favourite was the traditional Spanish Flamenco and paella evening, which we are pleased to announce is returning to us on Wednesday the 26th of August (with more dates to be arranged).

Many of our regular visitors have noticed the improvements over the past year and are very pleased that our prices have been held or even reduced.

The resort is proving more popular than ever and a warm welcome awaits all.
